Ronda Taylor comes back to the podcast to share more about her life and perspective.

From Ronda's Facebook page:

At the age of 53, I find myself starting a new chapter in my life—one of awareness, self-discovery, and surrendering to the unknown. I invite you to walk alongside me as I live, work, and volunteer my time and services to empower and support women entrepreneurs as I travel throughout Central and South America over the course of the next several months.

Readied with a one-way ticket, an open itinerary, and a profound sense of gratitude, I am about to embark on a journey that was inspired over 15 years ago. A journey that is part business, part personal, part spiritual, and entirely whole-hearted.

It’s business.

As a book publisher and award-winning book designer, my heart’s work is bringing an author’s vision to life and sharing their message with the world. I’m looking forward to volunteering my skills, as I work side-by-side with women entrepreneurs as I pursue my own dream of becoming an author. I will write a book documenting my journey with photographs, sharing my experiences, travel adventures, and the stories of those I meet along the way.

It’s personal.

It means creating a space for new opportunity. And in doing so, letting go of what no longer serves me. Imagine—paring down 30+ years of meaningful possessions and family keepsakes to that which would fit in the space of a 10x10 storage unit. Pictures taken from frames where they had been kept for years. Christmas decorations divided and shared amongst the kids and grandkids. Saying goodbye to the kitchen table around which so many dinners were held, conversations had and news shared. It meant watching items that once represented family memories and heartfelt stories leave in the hands of unsuspecting strangers.

It’s spiritual.

In order to honor and reconnect with my heart, I have chosen to begin my journey by spending the first three weeks volunteering in an Ashram Yogi community in the jungles of Nicaragua. Part of my contribution will include gardening, gathering fresh fruits and vegetables for our meals, preparing plant-based meals, and looking after Xian’s 18-month-old twin boys.

Dr. Frances Richards joins Christina on the Luckygirl podcast for a thoughtful discussion about her own journey and unlocking her passion and how she now helps others do much the same.

FROM HER WEBSITE:

Hi, I’m Dr. Frances Richards, Strategic Life Coach and your personal Chief Encouraging Officer. My mission is to invoke and provoke YOU to pursue a passionate extraordinary life and not settle for anything less! Within you is something great; a powerful desire that is waiting and wanting to be ignited and released NOW! In life you should do what you love and love what you do!

My Story…

The journey started at Sweet 16, I brought the myth that a college degree would take me to my happily ever after (financial freedom + satisfying career) equals a husband, the house with the white picket fence, two cars and four kids.

To fill my life’s void I ventured down the academic path (BA/MBA/Ph.D.), each road caused more confusion and the struggle to find purpose and passion intensified. Determination, desire and lots of disappointing career moves created a collision with the life coaching industry.

This interception led me to “my” doing what I love and loving what I do Strategic Life Coach and Chief Encouraging Officer.  Now my life is full of fire, passion and purpose.

Over the years I have helped hundreds of individuals unlock their passion and discover their authentic voice.  Many struggle with this same problem and guess what  “I have answers.

Social Worker, Activist, Speaker Shani Saxon of Turning Corners Consulting joins Christina Aldan today to talk about training to become a social worker, clinical experience, and therapy for family systems.

Your family of origin story influences your success in your business and in your personal life.

As a business owner, she has her own family systems issues, taking care of her family, taking care of herself.

  1. Take inventory of yourself - hungry, thirsty, tired? Listen to your body when you hit a wall. Acknowledge self-awareness. It’s okay to be exhausted.
  2. Do something every single day for your mind, body, spirit within a 24-hour period to rejuvenate. You may not like it at first, and it may be uncomfortable, but it is worth it. When you are stronger, you have more energy. When your mind is quiet, you will be grounded. Spiritual beliefs will serve as a source of inspiration. It’s important for us to feel a sense of purpose.
  3. The to-do list will always be there. Still, you must put yourself first.

Community Activist:
  • clinical instructor for the last 5 yrs
  • My Brother’s Keeper Summit is coming up soon! My Brother’s Keeper is a White House Initiative non-profit geared toward young men - she is a field instructor work for undergrads and graduates students - macro and policy work instead of the micro 1-on-1 work

Why do our schools need to be great places to work? I fell in love with Sandi Herrera’s message when I saw her deliver her TEDx Talk about 4 years or so ago in gorgeous Downtown Las Vegas. Always wanting to be a part of something bigger than herself, Sandi is determined to help schools create happy cultures. Culture and workplace coaching. Schools to be central hubs of positivity. It begins from the top down: with the principal and administrative team in unity. All leadership teams must be consistent, unified, and stable to create a high-performing team. In her thirties, she began aligning her own life to her values and realized how much she loved working with educators.

Dr. Stephanie Jordan joins Christina Aldan on Luckygirl: A Bite Sized Podcast for Solopreneurs.

From her website:

Dr. Stephanie Jordan is a Classical 5 Element Acupuncture practitioner trained in the style developed by JR Worsley. It is a highly effective and unique system of medicine, which treats the cause of disease. There is a natural order to the fundamental elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water that create and are responsible for life. When body, mind, and spirit are not integrated in our lives, we often feel much unhappiness, alienation and disease. It is important to discern where within each individual there is physical, mental and spiritual distress. When this is treated properly, these five elements become balanced and harmonious and we experience good health and a sense of all being right in the world.

Thinking outside the box led to a series of opportunities for Tessa Ashford. She shares her journey from Tennessee to Hawaii on today’s podcast. In the beginning there were only library websites. Vocational schools were the only schools offering technology degrees. 90% male-dominated industry. Her father was an entrepreneur. Tired of being asked “who is in charge?” she broke into the web design industry through the wedding industry.
